NITC-Certified Medical Gas Systems in the Bay Area
Medical gas is not general plumbing, and it should not be handled by a general plumber. Silicon Pro Service Plumbing is NITC certified for medical gas pipeline work and serves healthcare facilities across Silicon Valley, from a single dental operatory to a full surgical center build-out.

THE SPECIALTY MOST PLUMBERS DON'T TOUCH
Medical gas piping carries oxygen, nitrous oxide, medical air and vacuum to the point where a patient is being treated. The installation standard is different, the brazing is different, the testing requirements are different, and the consequence of getting it wrong is not a leak – it is a patient safety event and a facility that cannot open. That is why the work is restricted to certified technicians, and it is why healthcare facilities across the valley call us when the job is too important to get wrong.

WHAT NFPA 99 ACTUALLY REQUIRES OF YOU
Plain-language version, for practice owners who did not go to school for facilities management.
- Certified installation - Piping must be installed and brazed by certified personnel and verified before the system is used on patients.
- Annual inspection at minimum - Your insurer, licensing body or landlord may require it more often.
- Correct labeling - Every line, outlet and zone valve labeled correctly. One of the most common findings on a failed inspection, and one of the easiest to fix in advance.
- Documentation you can produce on demand - Test results, certifications and maintenance records. If you cannot find them, they may as well not exist.
- Re-verification after any change - Extend a line, add an outlet or move a wall, and the affected portion has to be re-tested before it goes back into service.

MEDICAL GAS FAQ
What is NITC certification and why does it matter?
NITC is the National Inspection Testing Certification, which qualifies technicians to perform medical gas pipeline work. It matters because these systems deliver gas directly to patients – certification verifies the installer is trained to the standard that keeps that safe and keeps your facility compliant.
What does NFPA 99 compliance mean for my practice?
NFPA 99 is the healthcare facilities code. For you it means the system must be installed and labeled correctly, inspected at minimum annually, documented, and re-verified after any change. We handle the work and the paperwork.
I'm opening a new dental office. When should I bring you in?
During the design phase, alongside your architect and general contractor, before build-out begins. Medical gas routing affects framing, walls and equipment placement. Bringing us in after the walls are up turns a straightforward install into demolition.
Can you work on an existing system I inherited?
Yes. We inspect it, identify what is non-compliant, and give you a written plan and price to bring it current. If you have just bought a practice, this is worth doing before you need it.
Will you have to shut down my practice to do the work?
Usually not entirely. We phase the work and schedule around your patient hours, including nights and weekends where the scope allows.
Do you handle the rest of the plumbing in the facility too?
Yes. Same license, same crew, same standard – restrooms, sterilization areas, break rooms, backflow, drains and water heaters.
